WHAT WE OFFER:
At Varsity, classes are built around clear instruction, connected concepts, and purposeful training. Beginners develop a strong technical foundation step by step, while experienced students refine the details, timing, and decision-making that separate good Jiu-Jitsu from great Jiu-Jitsu.
Whether you’re stepping onto the mats for the first time or preparing for your next competition, you’ll have a clear path to keep improving.
Start with the fundamentals. Grow without a ceiling.
Show up ready to learn. We’ll guide you through the fundamentals step by step, help you understand what you’re doing and why it works, and give you the time to build confidence as your skills develop.
Every strong foundation starts with the fundamentals. Our coaches break Jiu-Jitsu down into clear, manageable concepts so you can understand how positions and techniques connect instead of simply memorizing moves.
Start at your current fitness level. Jiu-Jitsu challenges your strength, conditioning, coordination, and mobility naturally as you learn.
You don’t get ready for Jiu-Jitsu before starting Jiu-Jitsu. Training is how you get ready.
Your first classes should help you understand Jiu-Jitsu, not leave you wondering what just happened.
Beginners are introduced to training in a controlled environment where coaches can help you understand the positions, movements, and expectations before the intensity increases.
Every black belt once walked into a gym knowing absolutely nothing.
You don’t need athletic experience, confidence, or prior martial arts training to start. You just need to be willing to learn.
Your job on day one isn’t to be good at Jiu-Jitsu.
It’s simply to begin.
Learn a skill that is not only a fun sport, but something practical you can utilize in everyday life.
Progress comes from solving difficult problems and challenging yourself to improve daily.
Jiu-Jitsu combines strength, endurance, movement, cardiovascular work, and even mindset.
There’s always another skill to learn and another level to reach. Jiu-jitsu is a never ending mastery.
Train alongside friendly people who are working toward the same goal: getting better.
Isaac Doederlein knows what it takes to develop Jiu-Jitsu at the highest level.
As a IBJJF Black Belt World Champion, two-time Brasileiro Champion, and European Champion, Isaac has spent years testing and refining his Jiu-Jitsu against some of the best competitors in the sport.
But competing at the highest level and teaching at the highest level are two different skills.
At Varsity, Isaac’s experience is broken down into clear concepts, technical details, and decision-making that students can actually understand and apply.
That means a first-day beginner can build the right habits from the start, while experienced practitioners and competitors can continue refining their game without hitting a ceiling.
High-level Jiu-Jitsu. Taught so you can actually understand it.
Different ages. Different goals. Different experience levels.
One standard of instruction.
Whether you’re learning Jiu-Jitsu for the first time, looking for more technical training, preparing to compete, or finding the right activity for your child, Varsity has a place for you on the mat
A great academy isn’t built around one person.
Varsity’s coaching team brings decades of combined training, competition, and teaching experience to the mats, giving students different perspectives while maintaining the same commitment to technical, thoughtful instruction.
James is a second-degree black belt under legendary world champion & ADCC champion Rubens “Cobrinha” Charles and has spent years training, coaching, and developing alongside Isaac.
As Varsity’s co-founder and one of Isaac’s longtime coaches and training partners, James brings a deep technical understanding of Jiu-Jitsu and a coaching perspective shaped by years at the highest levels of the sport.
Pauly is a black belt under Isaac Doederlein and one of his longtime training partners at Cobrinha’s till now.
As a Varsity coach, he brings the same technical approach used throughout the academy while helping students build strong fundamentals, confidence, and an understanding of how Jiu-Jitsu works.
Johnny is a dedicated blue belt with a deep passion for the sport and art of Jiu-Jitsu.
At Varsity, Johnny produces an accessable and engaging approach to training kids at all levels. He understands what it takes to build a strong foundation in Jiu-Jitsu and implements that same discipline to the Junior Varsity Team.
A great training environment should make it easier to focus on one thing: getting better.
Varsity was built to be clean, spacious, comfortable, and professional for everyone who walks through the doors—from first-day beginners and parents to experienced competitors.
Our academy features a large, fully padded training area, year-round heating and air conditioning, private showers, dedicated strength-training space, and a comfortable viewing area where parents and family members can relax or watch class.
The facility is cleaned daily and maintained with close attention to hygiene, organization, and overall upkeep.
Whether you’re here for your first class, watching your child train, or squeezing in another hard session with the team, the academy was designed to make training easier to fit into your life—and more enjoyable once you’re here.
Serious training deserves a space built to match.
